Settings: Test Tools

Use this page to show test images, take single measurements, switch between the calibrated and uncalibrated output, and save diagnostics for support.

Open Settings → Test Tools.

Test images

Choose a test image from the list, then click Display Test Image. The image fills the selected display. Close it when you're done.

Monitor Test Tools

  • Measure Luminance: measure the brightness of what's on the screen with your photometer.
  • Measure Illuminance: measure the light falling on the screen. See Measure ambient light, illuminance and uniformity.
  • Apply Calibrated LUT: load the selected display's calibration.
  • Apply Linear LUT: load an uncorrected output, so you can compare it with the calibrated one.

Warning

Apply Linear LUT removes the calibration from the display until you click Apply Calibrated LUT, restart ViziCAL, or ViziCAL Apply puts it back.

Export diagnostics for support

If support asks for diagnostics, ViziCAL can save them in a zip file.

  1. Click Export Diagnostics....
  2. Choose where to save the file, for example your desktop, and click Save.
  3. Attach the file to your email to support.

The file contains the logs of ViziCAL and ViziCAL Apply, with version and system information. Before saving, ViziCAL removes names, user and computer names, file paths, serial numbers and licence keys. Nothing is sent: you choose whether to send the file.
