Results, finishing and reports¶
Use this page to read ViziProfiler's recommendation, decide how to leave your displays, and save the report.
Step 7: Results and recommendation¶
For each display, ViziProfiler shows:
- Recommended: the display setting that's closest to your standard before any correction.
- Expected correction: how much ViziCAL's calibration will have to change. It shows how many of the 256 grey levels the correction will lose, and how far the white will be dimmed or shifted. Smaller is better.
- Confidence: High, Medium or Low, with the reasons. For example, confidence is lower if the brightness hadn't fully settled, or if a setting was changed by hand.
- Ranking: every setting you measured, best first. A setting marked fails a hard limit can't meet the standard even after calibration, for example because the display can't be made bright enough.
Step 8: Finish¶
Choose how to leave your displays:
- Restore the original settings (recommended): put every display back exactly as it was before ViziProfiler started.
- Apply the recommended settings and hand off to ViziCAL: set each display to its recommended setting, and save a recommendation file for ViziCAL. Tick Open ViziCAL afterwards to start ViziCAL straight away.
Then click Finish. ViziProfiler shows the result for each display, for example "Success – Original settings restored and verified".
Warning
If you apply the recommended settings, the display's existing calibration no longer matches. Calibrate the display again in ViziCAL. Until you do, ViziCAL Apply keeps applying the old calibration.
If you close ViziProfiler before finishing, it puts your displays back first.
Save the report and data¶
On the last step:
- Save PDF report…: save the full report. It includes the hardware, the standard and limits used, the pre-check, the results for each setting with charts, the recommendation, your visual check answers and whether the displays were put back.
- Export raw data (CSV/JSON)…: save every measurement as spreadsheet (CSV) and data (JSON) files.
- Save session file…: save the whole session, so you can make the report again later or compare it with a later session.
- Compare with another session…: compare this session with an earlier one, for example before and after a repair, or two displays. ViziProfiler saves the comparison as a PDF and a CSV file.
- Open session folder: open the folder where ViziProfiler keeps its sessions.
Reopen an earlier session¶
- Click Open session… at the top of the window.
- Click Yes to make the report of one saved session again, or No to compare two saved sessions.
- Choose the session file, then where to save the PDF.
Get help from support¶
Click Export diagnostics… at the top of the window and save the zip file. Personal details and serial numbers are removed. Send the file to support with a description of the problem.
Common problems¶
- ViziProfiler says "Partly restored"
- One of the display's settings couldn't be put back. The report lists which one. Set it on the display's own menu, or use the display's settings from before.
- The report marks some limits with †
- Those limits haven't yet been checked against the published standard. Treat results against them with care.
